Touring the Post Office today & Upcoming Important Dates

I became a member of the COPCC (Central Ohio Postal Customer Council) last year. Every month they have a luncheon and speaker that speaks on a different topic relating to issues we face as postal customers. Can you imagine how excited I was when I learned earlier this month that our May meeting would be held at the main Columbus processing plant - where a full tour of the facility and upclose experiences of the different mailing processes would be observable! I've heard stories, listened to my postmaster and USPS employees, talked with bulk mailing representatives, but none of those conversations will come close to being able to see for myself how it all works. Both Adam and myself have distribution management backgrounds and it will be interesting to see how the USPS handles the millions of pieces of mail they process each day first-hand!

Here's a quick summary of what we have going on with Consultant Depot this week:

Thursday, May 25th:
**Campaign 13 A week mailings to be dropped off to the post office (1 day earlier than usual, due to the holiday weekend)
**This is the one-month anniversary of our NEW Website!

Friday, May 26th - Monday, May 29th:
Our office will be closed for the holiday weekend with limited access to the internet. Personally, we are going to spend the weekend with my inlaws in Brown County, Indiana in a secluded log cabin in the woods and hoping to get a round of golf in, too!

Sunday, May 28th:
This is the updated deadline day for both the Campaign 13 B week mailings and the June Mystery Mailings. Both will be mailed out on the following Friday, June 2nd. If you feel that you will need assistance with uploading your customer lists or need any questions asked, we encourage you to ask prior to Friday, as we will not be able to get back to you until after the deadline has passed after then.

That's it for now - look for a email newsletter to arrive in your inbox tomorrow afternoon/evening - have a splendid week - and as always, thank you for your business!

To Success!

Wow! What a feeling! Within the last few minutes, I was accepted as a vendor for the DSWA, the Direct Selling Women's Alliance! It has been a long journey, but this was one of my goals from when we originally started our business 2 1/2 years ago! Real Estate Listings question - feedback welcome!

Hi there,

I received the following question today from one of our clients:

Our local newspaper puts in the real estate transfers for the area every Sunday. Was thinking about using your service to mail catalogs to the new people in my area. Do you know of anyone that has tried this method or a similar method and what kind of results they got?

What do you think? Have any of you tried this method? What a great idea, right?

I know when we moved here to Columbus about 2 years ago, we received mail from several small businesses that used this exact method to find us! In fact, many of them stated so right in their mailing. Being new to town, we appreciated this information and have used several of these businesses because of this unique marketing approach. For example, one of the pieces was a local company that did exterior painting - we saved their information and had them repaint the trim on our house last spring!

Have any of you retrieved this information for mailing Avon catalogs? We welcome your feedback, stories, and comments - let others know if this method has worked or is appealing to you!

To Success!

The Road Less Traveled - part 2

Okay, so after reading through my previous post, you may be thinking to yourself, "But what does this have to do with Consultant Depot?" So, in a related sense, I thought I'd fill you in on what I was working on in the backseat of our minivan this weekend...

I was rewarding our loyal referral clients with FREE MAILING CREDITS!! Since we started this business 2 1/2 years ago, we've literally given out thousands of $$ in mailing credits, as part of our Referral Incentive Program. You can reap the benefits of being the first to tell your fellow downline, Avon friends and district members. This is an on-going thank you for helping us spread the word about our program for their first six months of purchases through our Consultant Depot website! For as long as those representatives that you refer to us participate, you will receive free credits!

In this weekend session alone, I rewarded our referrees with a combined $327.00 in FREE mailing credits! So, thank you to those of you who have helped us - it truly means so much to us!

Visit our website or Email me if you would like more information about this rewarding program!

To Success!

The Road Less Traveled....

Over this past weekend, our family went back to my hometown of Fort Wayne, Indiana to attend the wedding of my brother's best friend on Saturday (about 3 hours from here). We then traveled to Covington, Indiana on Sunday (about 3 1/2 hours from FW) to attend a 'surprise' birthday party for Adam's brother and traveled home last night (about 4 hours from Covington). So, as you can see, we drove a lot of miles in a short period of time with 2 little ones in the backseat. Our kids are usually pretty good on long trips - we are lucky! However, we finally invested in a dual screen DVD player for the kids to enjoy - what a treat it was for us all! If they weren't snoozing or enjoying the sights, Baby Einstein or Finding Nemo was there to turn on the charm! On Sunday morning's drive to Covington, I was able to convert the backseat of our van into a mini-work station and cranked out a bunch of emails on my laptop that were on my to-do list all week!

The wedding was beautiful, the weather was near perfect, the birthday party was a 'near' surprise and it was a delight to see family members and friends who had yet to meet Jessica and was awhile since they saw Alex. We drove by a road much traveled by in the past, our old house in Fishers, Indiana and that's a whole other swoop of memories to reminisce.

It was a very blessed weekend. For a non-stop whirlwind weekend like that, I feel pretty refreshed and recharged! Now...back to work!
