The Road Less Traveled....

Over this past weekend, our family went back to my hometown of Fort Wayne, Indiana to attend the wedding of my brother's best friend on Saturday (about 3 hours from here). We then traveled to Covington, Indiana on Sunday (about 3 1/2 hours from FW) to attend a 'surprise' birthday party for Adam's brother and traveled home last night (about 4 hours from Covington). So, as you can see, we drove a lot of miles in a short period of time with 2 little ones in the backseat. Our kids are usually pretty good on long trips - we are lucky! However, we finally invested in a dual screen DVD player for the kids to enjoy - what a treat it was for us all! If they weren't snoozing or enjoying the sights, Baby Einstein or Finding Nemo was there to turn on the charm! On Sunday morning's drive to Covington, I was able to convert the backseat of our van into a mini-work station and cranked out a bunch of emails on my laptop that were on my to-do list all week!

The wedding was beautiful, the weather was near perfect, the birthday party was a 'near' surprise and it was a delight to see family members and friends who had yet to meet Jessica and was awhile since they saw Alex. We drove by a road much traveled by in the past, our old house in Fishers, Indiana and that's a whole other swoop of memories to reminisce.

It was a very blessed weekend. For a non-stop whirlwind weekend like that, I feel pretty refreshed and recharged! Now...back to work!
